SwiftPharma and BIOTOOLOMICS LIMITED in the PHARMECO Project
We’re proud to celebrate the impactful role of the Pfizer (PFE) and Loughborough University (LU) in the PHARMECO initiative—an ambitious Horizon Europe project advancing Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Together as a key academic and industry partners, PFE and LU bring deep scientific expertise and innovation to the table, particularly in:
🏭 Expertise in synthesis, manufacturing & LCA
🧠 Retrosynthesis tools & AI‑driven design
⚗️ Autonomous flow‑chemistry platform for rapid validation
Their contributions are central to Work Package 2, which focuses on the retrosynthetic route design, application of «SELECT» criteria and adoption of new technologies.
In addition, PFE will share with the consortium their extensive experience in chemical synthesis processes, manufacturing, metrics and LCA assessment areas, which they will bring to their specific WPs assignments.
